The first big prizemoney race of this season is run in Launceston on Wednesday night, the $100,000 Tas Fumigation & Pest Control 3YO Cup. Below is the relevant track information ahead of Wednesday’s meeting, accurate at 10:30 Tuesday 17 November.

  • Weather: Partly cloudy. Bureau of Meteorology forecast.
  • Track rating: Good 4
  • Peno: 4.45
  • Rail last meeting: +11m 1200m to WP-remainder +7m (11 November)
  • Pattern last meeting: The track was upgraded to a good 4 prior to the first race and stayed that way all night. The track played fair as runners looked to avoid the inside couple of lanes. Read the meeting review here.
  • Pattern last meeting in this rail position: 14 October. This was the second meeting of the night racing season and the track raced well without any obvious pattern.

On the expected track rating.

“We will start it a soft 5 in the early morning and should upgrade to a 4 (good) by the afternoon.

“No rain forecast which will make a nice change from recent weeks.”

On the presentation of the track, returning to the true position.

“Really happy with the ground back in there (rail true).

“We’ve got a great cover of grass on that inside area.”
