25 / 11 / 2020 Article by: Matt Reid

The first group or listed race for the new season is run in Launceston on Wednesday night with one of the state’s top sprint races, the Listed Jacksons Security Tasmanian Newmarket Handicap.

It’s an interesting field this year with feature winners from last season Mandela Effect and Toorak Affair the only horses who will carry more than the minimum of 54kg.

The support card for the feature is strong despite only four days since the previous meeting. The rail moves to the 3m position after being in the true on Saturday and the forecast suggests racing should on a 4 or 5 rated surface.
