EVERY punter wants to start a meeting off by backing a winner and in Launceston tonight Advanced Art looks the goods in the opening event on a strong nine-race card.

Advanced Art has drawn the pole position (1) and if past performances are a guide he should hold the front and be very hard to run down.

Woody Beours rattled home at the rate of knots last start and despite drawing wide in gate seven he should be able to get cover early and if he can be saved for one dash at them he looms as the main danger.

The Big Parade (3) also has been racing well without winning of late although his past two wins have been on this track, the lat7est on August 19 when victorious in a 3YO that gave him his second win last season.

The interesting runner is Whodeani from the Mick Maxfield stable that is resuming from a five month spell but he did show a bit when last in work and must be considered for exotic bet types (trifectas and first fours).
