Another Interstate Tasmanian Magic Millions graduate winner

With the Tasmanian Magic Millions sale just under a month away another well related past graduate has broken his maiden status at Sandown on Wednesday.

Winston’s Lad (Churchill Downs – Caralowe) was a $45,000 purchase from the 2013 sale by Victorian trainer Robbie Griffiths.

The 3YO gelding was given a lovely run in transit by underrated jockey Ivan Culliver where he sat just behind the leaders before finishing strongly to win the Appelles Plate over 1200m.

Winston’s Lad is a half brother to former star Tasmanian 2YO Triple Asset (Nadeem) who’s best win came in the Group 3 Janz Stakes at Morphettville.

A half brother Lot 100 by Helmet will be presented by Armidale Stud at the Tasmanian sale on Thursday 12 February 2015.

Winston’s Lad joins The Cleaner, Like a Carousel, Kenjowood, Bunchloch, Lucks a Fortune, Happy as Hell, Magnus Lad and Dandy Gent as past graduates of the sale that have won races on the mainland in the past 6 months.
