Following the Christchurch Earthquake and the shifting of the Inter-Dominions to Auckland later this month led tro the postponement of the Australian Young Drivers Championship.

But after reviewing several options put to Harness Racing New Zealand and Harness Racing Australia officials, officisla have reprogrammed the series.

The championship will run in Auckland from June 2 -6 and form part of the Harness Jewels series in NZ.

Championship Schedule:
Forbury Park Thursday 02 June (2 races + 1 reserve)
Addington Friday 03 June (2 races)
Ashburton Monday 06 June (Queen’s Birthday) (2 races)

The confirmed competitors in the championship are:

Queensland

Chantal Turpin

New South Wales

Ashlee Siejka

Victoria

Ellen Tormey

South Australia

Jake Webster

Tasmania

Nathan Ford

Western Australia

Justin Prentice

New Zealand

Zac Butcher

The extra New Zealand competitor is a result of last year’s defending champion, Gareth Rattray being too old to compete as a Young Driver in the 2011 edition.
