VICTORIAN owner Graeme Gathercole searched the internet to find Tasmanian trainer Brendan McShane and the result was two promising horses landing in the mentor’s Broadmarsh stables.
Barbara’s Girl was one of two horses dispatched to McShane’s stables and at Devonport today she delivered on a a promise she made with an eye-catching first-up effort in Hobart two weeks ago.
It also was a welcome back to Tasmania for apprentice Jacques Luxe who rated the mare well to lead all the way and score by almost two lengths from Barely A Secret.
Luxe has been living and working in NSW for over a year after spending two years indentured to McShane and it was his first ride back in the state.
