The ‘Tassie Terminator’ is scheduled to be back at the races on Saturday night at Menangle. James Rattray, the trainer/driver of the dual Inter Dominion (2014 and 2015) and Miracle Mile (2013) winner, has entered Beautide (R8 N9) in the $30,000 Paul Fitzpatrick Free For All as a lead up to the 7YO gelding’s attempt to win back to back $100,000 Len Smith Mile’s at Menangle on 26 April 2015.
Beautide is likely to start from barrier eight and three of the beaten brigade from the 2015 Inter Dominion, Teo Enteo (N4), Easy On The Eye (N6) and Monifieth (N11) are part of the field. Leading trainer Shane Tritton has three of the ten starters – Laterron (N1), Easy On the Eye and Suave Stuey Lombo (N10). Laterron is a Tasbred mare ideally drawn in barrier one while Suave Stuey Lombo has been responsible for two of Beautide’s three defeats at Menangle this season. Christen Me inflicted the other in the 2014 Miracle Mile.
Beautide has three Tasbred compatriots at Menangle on Saturday night. Melolyn (R1 N3) and Rykov Leis (R1 N9) face off in a $21,000 M0 while last start Menangle winner Blue Pointer (R2 N8) steps up a grade in a $20,000 M2/M3.
Blingittothemax was fourth in a heat of the Australian Pacing Gold (2YO C &G’s) at Menangle on Tuesday afternoon. That may qualify the Tasmanian colt for the $30,000 semi finals at Menangle on 18 April leading into the $322,000 final on 26 April.
