With only a week to the State National Sprint and Distance Heats greyhound followers are looking forward to a month of sensational greyhound racing not seen in the South since 1987.

Tonight’s eleven event strong card will start the month off with the Hobart track record holder Bergermeister (R7) up against quality opposition including Magic Moss, Katsidis and November Digger.

This son of Bit Chili will most likely start a short priced favourite after his flying win at Devonport and his affinity to the big track here.

He will jump from seven and should have the pace to follow Katsidis across the field and take up a good position early. Magic Moss and November Digger do look the hardest to beat while Penny’s Angel may be one for the multiples.

Exciting young pup Just As Fancy (R5) (SCRATCHED – ILLNESS) looks the best bet of the night and should be an anchor in the first leg of the quadrella.

This son of Premier Fantasy is undefeated since arriving in Tasmania and trainer Beau Shanahan is planning his preparation very carefully.

Jumping from the inside box he should jump to the front and lead all the way to bring up win number five.

Olwyn (R4) is another with a string of wins next to his name and should be followed with confidence over the coming months.

Best Bets: R7 No 7 Bergermeister, R10 No 3 Overeem.

Best E/W: R1 No 1 So Emotional, R6 No 4 Martello Towers, R11 No 1 Director.
