LONGFORD trainer Troy Blacker remains quietly confident his stable star Dream Pedlar will secure a start in the Group 1 Caulfield Cup (2400m).

Dream Pedlar was originally 40th on the ballot list of nominations for the race but after he won the Group 3 JRA Cup at Moonee Valley last Friday night he was elevated to 27th in the pecking order.

The reigning Tasmanian Horsed of the Year has been set for the Caulfield Cup but Blacker said he will dual nominate for the Coongy Handicap on Caulfield Cup day just in case Dream Pedlar misses a berth in the big race.
