LONGFORD trainer Troy Blacker has always had a big opinion of his classy sprinter Tennessee Drive and at Spreyton on Sunday the gelding finally gets his chance to mix it with the state’s better quality sprinters.
Tennessee Drive will line up in the Tapeta Sprint Prelude over 1000 metres which includes star sprinter Innocent Gamble, his stablemate Miss Middleton and proven sprint star Quest Master.
Also in the field is Quest Master’s stablemate, the highly promising Sound Bar that has a tremendous record on the Spreyton track.
Blacker is upbeat about the chances of Tennessee Drive (race 7) despite going up against open class sprinters for the first time.
Tennessee Drive has won five of his seven starts and all his wins have been at Spreyton.
Blacker also expects his lightly raced six-year-old mare Must Be Love to win the opening event on the eight-race card.
Must Be Love steps up to a more suitable 1650-metre trip and given her recent efforts Blacker expects her to break through for her second career win.
Blacker also has Ebideliah (race 4) and Mundine (Race 8) engaged at the meeting.
