JOCKEY Edward Brennen has escaped a nasty fall at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart last Sunday with a fractured finger and a broken nose.

Brennen hit the turf hard when his mount Testa Gee Gee clipped heels and fell soon after the start of the class one handicap (race 7) won by Three Crowns.

Brennen has only recently returned to race riding after suffering injuries sustained in a trackwork fall.

He also required surgery to repair cuts inside his mouth.

Testa Gee Gee suffered severe bruising and trainer John Luttrell reported the gelding had a problem in the hock region but the horse was improving by the day.

Stewards will continue their inquiry into the incident at the next Hobart meeting on October 21.
