LOCAL two-year-old Broadband kept his unbeaten record intact when the gelding scored another emphatic win over 1609 metres at TattersallsPark on Monday night.
Broadband showed only modest gate speed but he improved quickly to acquire the lead at the 1200 metre mark and was never seriously challenged in the run to the line.
With Paul Ashwood in the cart, Broadband clocked a mile rate of 2m:01.09s on his way to a 13-3/4 length win over Isntshesomething with Notcha Averagebear six metres away third.
“The horse is still learning but he did it very easy tonight” Ashwood said.
“He accelerated over the last 400 metres and made it look easy but I think he can go quicker” he said
Part-owner Bill Osbourne was equally impressed with the victory and believes bigger and better things await the son of Our Sir Vancelot.
“He is improving all the time in his work and in his sectionals” Osbourne said.
Broadband will be aimed at the Betfair Sweepstakes series beginning in the first week of April at New Norfolk.
