PREMIER trainer Scott Brunton could be aiming his bargain buy Cherry Dancer at some feature races later in the season following her impressive win at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart yesterday.
Cherry Dancer was having her fourth start for Brunton and went into this latest assignment with two wins and a second to her credit.
Brunton was upbeat about her chances of registering win number three but when the field neared the home turn and his mare was still last he all but gave up hope of her winning the race.
But with David Pires in the saddle, the mare got to the outside fence in the home straight and despite trying to lay in 200m out she rattled home to get up in the last stride to defeat Geegees Velvet and O’Reillys Geegee.
Listen to what trainer Scott Brunton had to say about Cherry Dancer’s latest win.
