Exeter-based greyhound trainer Anthony Bullock collected his 12th greyhound trainers’ premiership title in 13 years as the 2020 Tasmanian greyhound season came to a close at Ladbrokes Park Hobart last Thursday night.

Bullock entered only 5 runners for the New Year’s eve meeting for two winners and a third placegetter.

2020 saw Bullock prepare 209 winners for the calendar year from 940 starters with 457 minor placings.

Gypsies Luck wins a heat for the Devonport Chase on 17 November.

The past year can only be described as a turbulent one after the COVID-19 pandemic saw the Tasmanian racing industry face a 10-week shutdown period, resulting in some trainers making an emergency move interstate.

Bullock was moderately successful in taking 19 runners across Bass Strait and continued racing in Victoria.

The new greyhound racing season for 2021 will officially commence in Tasmania at the Ladbrokes Racing Centre in Launceston on Monday night where Bullock will have 12 runners engaged right across the 10-event program.
