WITH his spring campaign behind him The Cleaner has settled in for a decent spell after taking the nation by storm with multiple Group wins and a courageous third in the Group 1 Emirates Stakes at Flemington last month.
The Cleaner netted his owners over $500,000 in stakes from four wins and three minor placings last campaign that ended with an unplaced effort in the Railway Stakes in Perth, WA just over a week ago.
He also was a courageous ninth in the Cox Plate beaten three lengths.
His trainer Mick Burles said the horse was never comfortable in the Railway Stakes and it was obvious after the race that his stable star had come to the end of his tether.
But the Savoire Vivre gelding looked as happy as could be in his paddock at Burles’ Longford stables today and Burles was happy to reminisce on the horse’s feats these past few months and what happed in WA.
Listen to what trainer Mick Burles had to say about The Cleaner.
