Veteran thoroughbred trainer Mick Burles has always been a bit cocky when talking about his stable star The Cleaner but a statement he made during a media interview on Monday gave an indication as to how well advanced the gelding is going into tomorrow’s $100,000 weight-for-age Tattsbet George Adams Plate over 1600 metres.
Burles confirmed The Cleaner has had only nine weeks work going into the Listed race that he won last year but he says class will prevail on the day.
The Cleaner has not started since he finished ninth in the Railway Stakes over 1600m in Western Australia in late November and he has only been to the trials once since he’s been back in work.
Listen to what trainer Mick Burles had to say about The Cleaner’s chances in tomorrow’s WFA $100,000 Tattsbet George Adams Plate.
