TASMANIAN thoroughbred trainers and owners gathered in force in the north of the state on Thursday to partake in a viewing of some of the horseflesh that will go under the hammer at the j2013 Tasmanian Magic Millions Yearling Sale in Launceston next month.

The joint venture between Tasbreeders and Tasracing was hailed a huge success with about 30 of the 50 that took advantage of the early showing utilising the passenger bus that was booked to ferry them around five popular horse studs in the Me5ander Valley region.

Yearlings from Armidale, Alva, Grenville, Aceland and Brooklyn Park studs were paraded and some of the lots from this year’s catalogue attracted plenty of attention.

Lott 55 in the 2013 catalogue, a striking ready-to-run filly by Bushranger, almost stole the show at Armidale.

When she was paraded most eyes were fixated on her and most agreed she looked like a type that would go early.

The quality of the yearlings paraded by all five studs was outstanding and suggested that this year’s sale will be a success.

For all the details of the lots on offer at this year’s sale to be held at the Inveresk Sales Complex on February 14, contact Tasbreeders or Tasracing for a catalogue or go online www.magicmillions.com.au and look up Tasmanian sale.
