TALENTED greyhound She’s All Class scored arguably a career best win when she came from behind to emerge triumphant in the WHK Classic final over 452 metres at Devonport today.
The David Crosswell-trained bitch resumed recently from an injury-enforced spell and after two months away from racing she eased her way back with a couple of minor placings.
But when she won a heat of the Launceston club’s Breeders Classic last month Crosswell was confident he had her back to where she was prior to the fall that shattered her confidence late last year.
She had no luck in the final won by Bell Oh Moss but she made amends at her subsequent outing at Devonport where she led all the way to easily account for her rivals in a heat of the WHK Classic.
Today she began well wearing the black vest but not as quickly as Cointreau Cap that flew the lids from box five and held the rail to the home turn with a two-length break.
Cointreau Cap was being hailed the winner half-way up the home straight but She’s All Class lived up to her name by hauling in the leader to get up in the last stride to score by a head with her kennel mate Chicka Scott flashing home to run third and only a head astern.
