MULTIPLE premiership-winning trainer Charlie Goggin and his new partner, daughter Luella Meaburn, will saddle up a strong team at Tattersall’s Park on Sunday with Angel Child scoring an impressive win in a trial over 1400 metres.
Angel Child is an unraced four-year-old mare that has only trialed three times but has given an impression she will be well suited over distances of 1300m and beyond.
In her trial on Tuesday she settled third on the rail and never left the fence, dashing clear over the concluding stages to score by a length-and-a-half from Fiftyfourknots with Matsicash a long neck away third.
The mare was bred by Bruce Neill, one of Goggin and Meaburne’s most prominent clients.
