IN-FORM middle distance chaser Cheetah Zorro gets her chance to stretch her winning streak when she tackles a heat of the Mitsubishi Autumn Distance Medley series over 600 metres at The TOTE Racing Centre in Launceston tonight.

Cheetah Zorro has won her past four including a grade five heat and final over 600 metres at The Meadows prior to winning the Devonport club’s distance championship heat and final.

Her trainer Brendan Pursell is confident about her wining chances tonight and he also expects her kennel mate Happy Tiger to run the quinella.

“I couldn’t be happier with Cheetah Zorro’s form of late, in fact she has missed a cheque only twice since I started training her in August last year,” Pursell said.

“Cheetah Zorro should be very hard to beat tonight but I also expect a good performance from her kennel mate Happy Tiger that has been going well without winning,” he said.

Cheetah Zorro and Happy Tiger contest race three and Pursell also expects Side Com to be hard to beat in the remaining medley heat (race four).

“Side Com has drawn well in box one and if he jumps cleanly he will be hard to beat,” Pursell said.

Side Com has won over 720 metres in Launceston and has been placed over the 600-metre trip.

The first race in Launceston tonight will start at 6.15 pm due it being a combined greyhound-harness meting with nine harness races and a full card of 10 greyhound events.

Some form guides in newspapers had the incorrect starting times for the greyhound races so it would pay to check with TAB outlets and the Internet for starting times of all races at tonight’s combined meeting.
