Hall OF Fame trainer Gary White was full of praise for apprentice Rhonda Mangan after she guided in-form four-year-old Chips to a convincing win in a class two handicap over 1350 metres at Devonport today.
Mangan had Chips three-wide for the majority of the journey but that was exactly how she rode the gelding at his previous outing that also produced a win on the Tapeta synthetic.
It was the gelding’s third win from his past four starts since June 22 but he has definitely shown a liking for the synthetic surface.
Chips is by Bramshaw from Shallot, a mare trained by White for one of his prominent owners David Adams.
The gelding has only had 19 stats for three wins and four minor placings.
