FORMER mainland pacer My Christian Fella continued the good start to his Tasmanian career with a convincing win at Tattersall’s Park on Monday night.
Resuming from a short spell, the colt showed early gate speed and although challenged at the top of the straight the three-year-old was never really troubled heading to the line scoring an all-the-way win in the Geoffrey Hoare Pace over 2,090 metres.
Trainer-driver Rohan Hillier who was given the horse to train by Victorian trainer Gavin Lang, believes the well bred colt should be able to rise through his classes to win better races.
“He was purchased for $70,000 at the yearling sales and we have had the colt for a little over twelve months since Gavin sent him here after his two-year-old season”.
“He is nice consistent little horse to work and with his early gate speed being his best attribute he should be able to make a C4/C5 horse”, Hillier said
Hillier, who currently sits fourth in the trainers premiership, recorded a double for the night when Sugastikysweetstuf saluted in the Michael Glover Pace also over 2090 metres.
