The 2025 Wynburn Sheean Tasbred trophy could stay in the south as Inherited Charm prepares to secure his first feature race win, lining up as the favourite for Thursday night’s $7,420 461-metre event in Hobart.
Six of the eight runners are situated in the south part of the state, and Allan Clark’s runners are located in Burnie.
Inherited Charm has produced a brilliant record in just four starts to date, securing three wins for trainer Gary Fahey.
The son of Feral Franky and Sacred Shadow has drawn box 1 for Thursday’s Grade 5 feature, entering the decider as the fastest heat winner with a swift time of 25.50 seconds and a 9-3/4 length victory over Spa last week.
Inside box draws have hindered Inherited Charm, who has performed his best work from wider draws. This race allows him to dispel that trend with a performance to secure victory.
He is expected to start favourite in the $4,860-to-the-winner feature, with Wynburn Flyer as the danger.
Prepared by Nick Howard, Wynburn Flyer is in red-hot form, having won his heat on Thursday; the son of Feral Franky backed up on Tuesday in Hobart to secure a restricted wins event over 461 metres in 26.46 seconds.
The red brindle chaser leaps from box 5 in the fourth event, eyeing off his fourth win for the owner/trainer.
