Underrated pacer Cosmic Under Fire made it back-to-back wins when he powered home to take out the Elite Stakes at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart last Sunday night.

Cosmic Under Fire (Courage Under Fire-Cosmic Whirl) had not won a race for about 15 months before saluting in Launceston last Sunday week so that win obviously did his confidence the world of good as he treated his rivals with contempt on Sunday night.

With talented Victorian reinsman Grant Campbell in the sulky, the gelding joined the leaders leaving the back straight the last time and went on to defeat Sky Tower and Jilliby Rio.

Cosmic Under Fire suffered an injury last year that almost ended his career but time healed all and he has come back with a vengeance.

Connections targeted Tasmania in an attempt to get him back into top racing condition and the plan has paid big dividends.
