NOVICE greyhound owner-trainer Amanda Grice can expect to be spending a bit of time in the winner’s circle if her talented dog Curragh holds his present form on Tasmanian tracks.
Curragh notched another impressive win at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart last night scoring impressively in a strong grade four event over 461 metres.
The dog began his racing career with a bang when victorious by a big margin on debut in a juvenile in Hobart and he remained unbeaten after three starts with wins in grade five events at Devonport and Hobart.
Curragh (Fabregas-Sweet Stephi) lost no admirers when second to the talented Star Chamber in a grade four at his fourth starts and at his only other start he was slow to begin and copped two sever checks when out of a place in a race won by Miss Pisces in Launceston.
But he was very impressive at this latest outing despite being only fairly away from the boxes (2).
He mustered speed quickly to assume control at the top turn and with splits of 5.19 and 11.22 he powered up the home straight to stop the clock at 25.84 which was clearly a personal best.
