DAMEK had his colours lowered for the first time in Tasmania when second in the state final of the National Sprint Championship last Monday week but he bounced back with a convincing win in Hobart last night.
Damek had won 11 in Tasmania from as many starts before the Tombstone Jack burst the bubble.
There were rumours the dog had suffered a slight injury but those rumours were dispelled last night.
He began well from box three and sizzled to the top turn and let rip in the home straight to stop the clock at 26.12 on an extremely rain affected track.
It was a best of the night performance and he should have no trouble winning his way to top grade this preparation.
