CLASSY young bitch Dang Shen added another feature race win to her growing CV when she outgunned Young Star Classic winner Mr Issues in the Gold Collar final in Launceston on Monday night.
Dang Shen (Slater-Oxley Apache) began brilliantly from box eight to lead at the first turn and extended her lead down the back stretch.
She held a three-length break turning for home and held off a late challenge from Mr Issues to win by the narrowest of margins with Adam’s Magpie almost five lengths astern.
It was Dang Shen’s third win from six tries on the track and her eighth career win from 20 starts.
He litter sister Ren Shen also made the final but she suffered a serious check at the first turn and never recovered.
Mr Issues settled midfield before making his move well into the back stretch.
