PROMISING pup Dark Dee gave his owner-trainer Debbie Cannan a glimpse of things to come when he defied a tardy start to go on and record an emphatic win in a juvenile event over 461 metres in Hobart last night.
DarkDeewas having only his seventh start with this his second win in the space of four starts.
The son of Cosmic Rumble began slowly from box one which under normal circumstances would have spelled disaster but he was able to burrow through and hold the fence courtesy of Take Up Maggie (3) that began well but held a straight line to the top turn.
Once he cleared Take Up Maggie he sped clear and went on to win by seven lengths from Volcano (8) that was doing his best work in the home straight with Take Up Maggie hanging on for third two lengths away.
DarkDeeis likely to head to Devonport to try and win his juvenile on that track but he would only need to hold his present form to make that happen in the very near future.
DarkDeeis from Wongawillicath (Placard-Wongawillimilly) that performed well on the track winning 16 of her 71 starts that also included 19 minor placings for about $64,000 in stakes.
