ANTHONY DARMANIN was the star of the show at the night meeting at the TOTE Racing Centre on Wednesday night riding half the card on the eight-event program.

Darmanin was coming off a great day at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart last Sunday where he also snared four winners including the Brighton Cup aboard rank outsider Another Lad Al for trainer Rod Seymour and owner Paul Christian.

His other winners at Elwick were Crib Point ($11.60) for Brighton trainer Terry Evans, Shah Demos ($13.90) for Kath Kennedy and odds-ob favourite Debauche ($1.50) for premier trainer Scott Brunton.

In Launceston he won aboard the Leon & Dean Wells-trained Geegees Baritone, Just Run and Phantasmagoria for talented young Longford-based mentor Dylan Clark and the Troy Blacker-trained Mon Londo.

He also had two minor placings and two fourths from his remaining four rides.

His eight winners from two meetings took him to the equal lead on the jockeys’ premiership table with 37 wins to join the in-form David Pires.

Multiple premiership-winning jockey Brendon McCoull is lying in fourth spot with 28 winners while apprentice Ismail Toker, who outside his claim two weeks ago, is third with 34 wins.
