In Brief

  • Exciting juvenile chasers compete in the first and second races of the day.
  • Fitzsimmons with two runners engaged and both will start from box two.
  • Blazer backing up after a strong win last start.

A good day of racing in Devonport on Tuesday starts at 12:29 with 10 races to be run.

There are plenty of exciting juvenile performers lining up in the first two races of the day and a terrific grade one and two field assembled in race eight.

Trainer Darryl Fitzsimmons has a couple of runners engaged on the day and both will exit box two.

Trending Now goes around in race five and has her best draw in a while. She raced in Invitation class at her last start and had little luck before that, finding trouble from box four. With a clean start here, she can improve on her Devonport record and the early betting markets agree opening her as the $3.40 favourite.

In the top-grade race on the card, Notorious Tiger will jump from box two which is a draw he has raced very well from in the past. He ran a smart second in this class at his last run on the track and appears an each-way hope again in an open event.

Race six is a good quality grade four race with three last start winners engaged.

Blazer was impressive last start on the track coming from well back to finish strongly and equal his best time. He lacks early speed but has fast run home times. Sin Rap Boom won his race a week ago after a slow start and faces a difficult draw this time around. Tottenham Lass won her seventh race at start number 105 after she was also slowly away. She has a good record from the draw but may need some luck in running stepping up in class.

Tuesday afternoon’s meeting will be broadcast on Sky Racing 1 and Tasracing TV.
