Karalta Dazzler will be chasing another standing start claiming win when he lines up in the Tasmanian Horse Transport Claimer in Launceston on Friday night.
The Ben Yole-trained pacer has won the last three standing start claiming races he has contested, the most recent was in Devonport on 29 December.
On that occasion, the 10-year-old gelding produced his customary brilliant standing start manners to lead from barrier two and dictated affairs throughout to score by 1.5 metres where he held off late challenges from Bounty Eyre and Northview Dave.
The Stonebridge Regal gelding then ventured to Hobart last Sunday where he contested an open discretionary that he was able to find the top before being defeated by 10 metres behind Lip Reader.
On Friday night Karalta Dazzler has drawn barrier two in the 2200-metre standing start event where he will have reinsman Gareth Rattray’s services on a track where the pacer has won nine of his 23 victories.
As always, the Yole stable has many winning chances across the card including Earl Jujon in race two, the Nutrien Ag Solutions Pace.
The eight-year-old gelding has impressed in three Tasmanian starts to date including a win in Hobart two starts ago and finished off well to run Castor Troy down to a neck last week.
Earl Jujon hasn’t had the best run of barrier draws since arriving in the state.
He has drawn barrier five on the second row in all three runs in the state and has drawn barrier three on the second row for Friday’s assignment over the 1680 metres, with the draw looking to suit given many horses off the front line are noted go forward horses.
Yole claimed his fifth consecutive trainer’s title last season with 189 Tasmanian wins during the extended season, and he has already shot clear in the early stages of the 2021 season with six wins.
The opening race on Friday night commences at 17:45 with the last of seven-races set down for 20:48 with all races to be televised on Sky Racing 2 and TasracingTV.
