TOP Victorian rider Dean Yendall has been booked to ride last season’s top Tasmanian three-year-old Iggimacool in next week’s $100,000 Newmarket handicap over 1200 metres at The TOTE Racing Centre in Launceston.
Yendall is one of the best-performed riders in Victoria and he has a great association with Tasmania although he has visited the state infrequently over the past two years.
He is a multiple Group-winning jockey who has no weight concerns.
Michael Rodd also is expected to ride at the meeting as he has been booked to ride the Charlie Goggin-Luella Meaburn trained Pitt Street .
Tasmania’s reigning premier jockey Brendon McCoull usually rides Iggimacool but he is committed to Rebel Bride in the Newmarket while Anthony Darmanin has been booked to partner class mare Arenzano.
