We head up to the North West Coast for the Hardings Hotmix Devonport Cup which brings together a very even field. Punt Road Disco took out the Burnie Cup last week for driver Rohan Hillier and trainer Andy Rawlings who is a hometown boy and I’m sure it was one of the highlight’s of his career. Ricky Duggan had a great weekend driving five winners with a treble at Burnie and a double at Launceston. Paul Hill proved he is the king of the youngsters in recent years when his well-bred two-year-old Rocknroll Turbo was an impressive winner of the Debutante Stakes.

This is for the two-year-olds which brings together only a field of four. SCOOTERWILLREV (2) is a high-priced youngster that comes out of last season’s APG Sale. He has had three trials for his debut and his last trial was very good. He has drawn well so if he can roll to the top he will take plenty of running down. SIGN OF A TYNE (3) made a very good debut in the debutante last week in where good ground late. He will be much better for the run so look’s the danger. KARALTA KRUISE (1) was also ok in that same race and draws much better here. He draws the pole so he will be hoping to hold up and can give some cheek. MASTER DOC (4) has only trialled fairly so may pay to just watch here.

This is for the CO pacers. Handy three year old SULTAN FELLA (1) will find this easier last start in where he knocked up after doing plenty of work early. He should do enough to hold up so gets his chance to get back into the winners circle. THIRLSTANE KING (8) is a nice type who is resuming. He should get a good run through so look’s a real danger. OUR MAXICAM (6) won on debut here impressively. Not much has gone right for him since so will pay to keep safe. JOHN PRESTON (3) was able to lead throughout and win last week so from the draw has to be included. NEVER UNACHIEVABLE (5) is capable of sneaking a place at odds as is FREELANDER (4) , ANOTHER APPROVAL (7) and MASTER PAIGE (10).

This is a pretty handy three year old. POCKETS OF COURAGE (1) is always thereabouts but is becoming a bit of a bridesmaid. He really gets his chance here as he should be able to lead and dictate the race so is the one to beat. TAMBROS MILLY (3) is a handy three year old filly who was good when resuming last week. She has drawn well so will pay to keep very safe. ALL STAR SAMMY (10) has some very good form behind some handy types so if he can get into the race will be in the finish. RIVERLEGIRL (9) was very impressive winning at Burnie last week when came from well back. She will be hoping to get a cart into the race and can win if this eventuates. COURAGEOUS JAMANE (6) is a well related youngster on debut so will pay to watch the market. KARALTA DELUX (2), TISU BOMBELLE (4) and ART OF MY ART (8) are next best.
TOP PICK : POCKETS OF COURAGE (1) is the hardest to beat but wouldn’t take real short odds.

This is a very tough CO/C1 for the mares. PHAROAHS WRATH (11) was very impressive winning a harder race than this last week when got all the breaks. She is a handy mare who if can get a trip into the race will take plenty of beating. WEONA MASTERPIECE (5) has had a bit of a freshen up since her last run. She does have ability so if she can lob handy will be a player. FUSCIENNE (7) was much better last week when hit the line strongly so if she gets a crack at them will take holding out. SIGN NO MORE (10) is having first local run and this is not the strongest of races so will pay to watch the market. MEI GEI (8) and REALLY FIESTY (9) are consistent types who can win if the breaks come their way. NETHERBY ROAD (1) and TELL MIA STORY (3) are next best.

This is a very good race for the C1 pacers. CEMENTO RAPIDO (1) got a well deserved win last week when got the gun run. He draws ideally again here so has to be a leading chance. BAROOGA BUSTER (2) is racing well and can do work in his races which he will have to do here. He was very brave last week in good time a better race so has to take plenty of beating. FUTURE PROMISES (4) was very good last week when just grabbed on the line after doing plenty of work in the run. She has a tricky draw here but with a decent trip will figure. MERSEY DELIGHT (11) has been racing well so if she has any luck from the draw look for her to be finishing strongly. ME MATE LES (3) , YOUNG BRUISER (6) and WEALTHY WARRIOR (10) are next best.
TOP PICK : BAROOGA BUSTER (2) looks very hard to beat.

This is a pretty tricky C2. UNION FORCE (2) put up two very big efforts last week. He has drawn well so as long as his pulled up ok from last week is clearly the hardest to beat. ALPINION (3) is racing in career best form. He will push forward but will have to sit parked but still win in doing so. WHO IS HARDEEN (5) got a well deserved win last week when luck was on his side. He will find this tougher but has to be a chance. BYMARJAC (7) will get a cheap run on the pegs so if gets a crack at them can fill a place at odds. STRANGE CONDUCT (4) , DEVIL OF TYNE (6) , XBOLT (8) and IDEAL DISTRACTION (9) are next best.
TOP PICK : ALPINION (3) just leaning his way at the odds.

This is a C3/C4. IM FULL TILT (1) draws to advantage so gets his chance to get back into the winners list. He should be able to hold up and dictate the race from there so is the one they have to beat. ONEMORELAUGH (4) was very good last week hitting the line very strongly from a long way back. He will have to push forward early so from there will get his chance. ANGEL OR DEMON (2) has built up a very good record in her brief career to date. She draws well so is sure to figure in the finish. REGAL IDEA (5) and LAST GUY STANDING (7) are both racing ok without much luck so are next best.

This is a very tough Devonport as it is most years. THE MAJORITY (10) comes into this in career best form. He was very brave when running second in the Hamilton Cup last week which was much stronger than this. He draws the second row so will be hoping to get through some traffic early and be the one to beat. RESURGENT SPIRIT (1) is just a bloody good horse. He draws the pole as may not be ideal for him as he has a bit of speed drawn out side him but as long as he gets off the pegs will be a huge danger. OUTBACK MACH (4) continues to race well without winning. He is sure to be hitting the line well and has to be included in the chances. VANDE VELDE (11) is a very underrated type who is always a chance with the right trip so is a good smokey. ALL I CAN BE (13) is the back marker but will appreciate the 10m mark instead of what he has been getting. He will be hoping to get a cart into the race and if does can win at good odds. RIVERBOAT JASPER (5) is just racing below his best of late but can’t be entirely left out of calculations. BLACK CENTURIAN (3) and TRULY BLISSFULL (6) are both capable of running a race at odds if they lobbed on top so are a must for the exotics. TISU TOOTA (2) and DODGERMEMATE (12) are next best.

He draws to get a good run through early so will settle handy and take plenty of holding out. ANOTHERMETRO (6) has been just been behind the placings of late. He draws wide but if he can the right trip will be in the finish at odds. BOUTIQUE ART (3) draws handy so has a great place chance at odds. GOTTALOVEFRIDAYS (10) was a good winner last week at Burnie when came from well back. He will be hoping to get a cart into the race and can if he does. RAINBOW PHOENIX (2) can sneak a place at odds.

HAPPY SCHNAPPS (1) grows a leg when he can lead in his races and draws the pole so look’s the leader and will take plenty of running down. REAL RIVER (4) resumed with a very good run behind a smart type. He will strip fitter here so has to be a leading contender. CISKEI (7) draws to get the gun run and will appreciate this field so is a definitely a winning hope. NEONJET (2) and ANOTHER JASPER (3) are both tough types and can fill a place at odds.
TOP PICK : HAPPY SCHNAPPS (1) is the one to beat from the draw.

LUCKY DAVE (1) draws ideally as he is a good front runner so look for him to give plenty of cheek. OUR ARCHANGEL (2) draws to drop behind the leader so can win if gets a crack at them as is racing well. DELIVERTHEGOODS (4) hit the line strongly last week. He has a tricky draw but if the breaks come his way can win at odds. SKY TOWER (3) and MY GREEK MATE (5) are both capable of running into a place at odds.
