The North West Greyhound Racing Club’s meeting on the Christmas Day holiday on Tuesday 27 December 2011, which was originally scheduled as an afternoon meeting, has been moved into a twilight timeslot.
Tuesday afternoon meetings are generally covered by Sky1, however with the amount of racing during the festive season this meeting was relegated to Sky2. After consideration of the ramifications, the Club was keen to take advantage of the less congested period in the twilight and with co-operation from Sky and Racing Services Tasmania the meeting has been rescheduled.
The first race is scheduled to commence at 3.56pm with the last race, on the currently scheduled 10 event programme, at 6.59pm. Scratching time for the meeting will remain at 4pm on Monday 26 December 2011.
The Club is excited at the move to the new time and expects it create additional interest in the lead up to their major event in January, the Group 3 Dowling McCarthy Hankook Tyres Devonport Cup.
