Buckle Up Ticky, a daughter of the very well performed Buckle Up Tina and one of the four Gary Johnson trained finalists, looks the one to beat in the final of the Tasbred Maiden at Devonport this afternoon.

After three placings from four starts on the track she won her heat, from box three, by nine lengths in 26.21 which was easily the fastest of the four heats and a very windy day.

Today she will carry the red jacket and only needs an even start to test her opposition to the limit.

Hellyeah Bluey won her heat from box five at her first race start and, from box eight, she looks the main danger.

Raw Emotion is probably the fastest dog in the race but is a slow beginner and has trouble finding a clear run in her races.

Popular Ulverstone owned and trained Mushy Peas has finished in the first two at twelve of his fifteen Devonport starts and looks the one to beat in today’s Invitation.

Mercury Morris and Casso Mac George are the main opposition.
