Patrons are assured of a very competitive card of racing at the TOTE Racing Centre tonight with ten good races.

The feature tonight is three heats of the Launceston Mitsubishi Spring Distance Championship.

Heat one looks a nice race for veteran Decembrist (Peter Phillips). He has good 600m form and his likely danger is Disney Bound (Robin Stocks).

Heat two features the clash of Miss Hetti (Butch Deverell), Side Com (Brendan Pursell) and Able Lad (Leigh Wood) as the main chances.

Heat three sees the best hopes being Hollyheath (David Crosswell), Cheetah Zorro (Brendan Pursell) and Hellyeah Trish (Anthony Bullock). It should be a very competitive final next week.

New greyhound to the state in Gold Max now trained at Burnie by Wayne Maine was very impressive at Devonport and should carry on winning in race three.

He is well drawn and is from a litter that has a lot of ability.

Former thoroughbred veteran trainer Ted Devine is giving his greyhound Place Your Bet, a winner of nine races, his first start at the Mowbray track.

He has loads of ability and it will be interesting to see if he handles the tighter circuit in race seven.

The best bet is the Lawrence Mulligan prepared Beetle Nut which was super impressive winning over the short 278m trip last Monday. He is trying to make it three in a row.
