TALENTED middle distance galloper Dream Roller is likely to start a warm favourite when he lines up in the Hardings Hotmix Easter Cup at Spreyton today.

Dream Roller has had nine starts on the synthetic surface for four wins and as many minor placings with his last effort a game third to Geegees Goldengirl in the $100,000 Devonport Cup in early January.

The Troy Blacker-trained gelding won the Golden Mile and Sheffield Cup at 1650 metres prior to his Devonport Cup placing after which he was freshened up with this race in mind.

The Scott Brunton-trained Electric Crimson has been impressive in winning at his past two starts and while he has yet to tackle the Spreyton track he is n top form and would only need to adapt to make his presence felt at the business end of proceedings.

Windell has been mixing his distance and form of late but he is quite adept on the synthetic with three wins and two minor placings from nine tries including one win at the distance.

Musique Player also has been set for the race and while the eight-year-old’s recent form has been disappointing he grows a leg on this track having won three and placed twice from six starts at the distance.

The Charlie Goggin and Luella Meaburn-trained gelding also has three-kilogram claiming apprentice Lucinda Doodt aboard so he will carry only 51 kilograms which should help overcome the outside barrier (11).
