MELBOURNE Cup winner Dyna Villa is a deserving favourite for Thursday night’s $105,000 Tattsbet Hobart Thousand and victory would give him two Group 1 wins in the space of a month.
Dyna Villa was awesome in winning the richest greyhound race in the Australasia ($600,000 Melbourne Cup) and at his subsequent outing he was again impressive by easily winning his Hobart Thousand heat last week.
The Jenny Hunt-trained dog ran the 461 metres in a slick 25.94 with splits of 5.07 and 11.04 and that was an improvement on his solo trial time a week earlier.
Dyna Villa is the $2.50 favourite with Tattsbet while the youngest dog in the field Big Ticket is on the second line at $3.50.
The Tattsbet Hobart Thousand is the oldest Group 1 race on the national calendar and is a much sought after prize by local and interstate trainers and owners.
The Tattsbet Hobart Thousand will appear as race eight on the 10-event card on Thursday night and is scheduled to start at 10 pm (EST).
