2009 Consistent greyhound of the year, Eagle Eye continued his affinity with the Tote Racing Centre track when he saluted again tonight for win number 15 on the circuit.
Boxing brilliantly this son of Bond sped to the lead past the post the first time and only had Whispering Blaze for Bracknell trainer Maurie Strickland to contend with on his tail.
Rounding the home turn Whispering Blaze tried the inside but to no avail and then switched to the outside but by then the bird had flown.
Eagle Eye stopping the clock at BON 30.00 to win by 1 1/2 lengths from a gallant Whispering Blaze while Graeme Moate’s Ronray Bomber came at the leaders hard to be a head away in third.
Speaking of the Goodwood veteran, Graeme Moate trained a treble for NSW owners the Houndog Syndicate and syndicate manager Shannon Larsen.
Shanlyn Wilma, Shanlyn Daisy and Shanlyn Sparky all were sent out favourites in their respective races and duly saluted for punters.
Moate said that the syndicate had never had a treble before and were very excited with their wins.
Trump This for Brighton trainer Laurie Hills and Embrocadero for Mick Stringer should be followed with confidence at their next few starts after eye catching runs tonight.
