EMERALD LEE which has taken all before her in restricted company faces her hardest assignment in open company in the main race, an Invitation Stakes at Mowbray tonight.
Owned by Ian Sowell and Debbie Cannan and trained by Cannan she has won $35,500 in stakes from only fifteen starts for eleven wins and only turns two next month.
She has her whole future in front of her.
She takes on track specialist Lika Whisper (Brendan Pursell) , Fisherman (Mark Sutcliffe) a Launceston Cup winner which is still racing well at five years of age and Tadmore Dunoon (Ted Medhurst) which saves his best for the Mowbray circuit.
Punters should get a flying start to the programme with Jennifer Ellen in R4.
Trained by comeback trainer Rod Ransley at Brighton she was ultra impressive at Tattersall’s Park on Thursday in very smart time.
Although having her first start on the track she is sure to have been trialled here by her savvy trainer.
Mangalore trainer Ted Medhurst won five races at Devonport last Tuesday and could repeat the training feat with his runners Speed Direct (R1) , Zavance Man (R6), Collyn Tiger (R6), Tadmore Dunoon (R7), Jaguar Pines (R8), Zorro’s Legacy (R9) and Rocket Tadmore(R10) all good chances in their respective races.
He has put together a strong team since returning to training and has always been brilliant with young greyhounds.
Best Bets: R3 No 2 Gatty Com, R4 No 1 Jennifer Ellen, R6 No 1 Zavance Man
Best E/W: R1 No 1 Martello Towers, R 5 No 6 Bastille Border, R9 No 1 Zorro’s Legacy
