IT takes a good horse to win three races in succession no matter what class or jurisdiction it races in so it came as no surprise that Team Brunton is contemplating an interstate trip for their talented mare Enshroud.

At Tattersall’s Park in Hobart yesterday Enshroud made it a hat trick of wins when she powered home to take out a benchmark 68 race over 1000 metres.

Enshroud (Brendon McCoull) settled just off the pace but when rider McCoull asked her to extend at the top of the home straight she answered the call and then went on to defeat Innocent Gamble that loomed as the winner 200 metres out with Delighted Owners flashing home at the business end to grab third.

Enshroud went into the race having won a class one over 1100m in Hobart on April 7 and a class two at the same venue over 1200m on April 27.

She defeated Not Another Red in the class one and Hailed in the class two and both of those horses won their respective races yesterday so most astute punters latched onto the franked form and backed her in to start the $2.70 favourite.
