TALENTED gelding Esspressardo notched an overdue win when he powered his way to victory in the Aceland Stud maiden/Class 1 handicap over 1600 metres at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart today.
Esspressardo has been threatening to win another race for a while but he finally had things go his way and emerged triumphant by almost a length from Da Nyet (Craig Newitt) with Royal Equerry (Georgie Catania) at distant third.
The Gary White-trained four-year-old had finished no further back that fourth at his four previous starts and had no luck in three of those outings.
Esspressardo is owned by Ron and Trudy Schwanke who were unable to see the win as they are holidaying intrastate.
