SEVEN MILE BEACH trainer Mark Everett hasn’t been in the best of health lately so the win by his promising three-year-old Status Seeker at Tattersall’s Park last Sunday certainly gave him a boost.
Everett is fully recovered from surgery and back to full strength and looking forward to more wins from Status Seeker and two other horses sent to him by Paul Davies from NSW.
Status Seeker was having only his second start in Tasmania. He debuted with a game second in Hobart on February 27 and had improved enough to register a convincing win in a strong maiden over 1200 metres.
Status Seeker powered home in the straight to defeat What A Life and Eden Hills.
Everett also prepared the fourth placegetter in Cedars Of Rome that was unlucky not to finish a lot closer to the winner.
Status Seeker (Arena-Scandal At Court) had two starts in NSW for a last of eight on debut at Kemble Grange in January last year followed by an inglorious 12th of 14 at his subsequent outing at Goulburn in June in which he was beaten about 14 lengths.
Everett acquired Status Seeker, Cedars Of Rome and Lover Boy about six months ago.
