TONIGHT’S Greg Fahey Middle Distance Greyhound Championship final (Race 8) over 599 metres at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart promises to be a thrilling race.
GOOD Odds Demon might not have clocked the quickest time of the two heat winners at 34.58 but his racing manners would suggest he will finish ahead of Topline Power that clocked 34.51 in winning his heat.
The first four placegetters in each of the two heats made it to the final.
Good Odds Demon, from the Shane Whitney kennel, has drawn box four in the final but he is usually a good beginner with outstanding early speed and provided he does everything right tonight he is the one to beat.
Painted Dotty has drawn box five and she too has good early speed so expect some action at the top turn from these two smart middle distance performers.
Topline Power has drawn box one but because of his timidity it is not the best box for the Mick Stringer-trained dog however his kennel mate Painted Dotty has drawn more favorably.
The Susan Gittus-trained Miss Somebody has drawn ideally in box two and should she find the front and get a break on her rivals she could be very hard to run down.
The only other genuine winning hope is Hold On Coupe that will wear the black vest and he is well suited out wide.
Hold On Coupe was third to Topline Power in his heat but is capable of improving.
