THREE-YEAR-OLD pacer Finn Mac Kee has given veteran trainer Tommy Jackson a much needed boost by scoring an emphatic win in the Lachlan Hotel Pace over 1609 metres at UBET Park Hobart on Sunday night.
Finn Mac Kee showed blistering early speed to lead and when driver Paul Hill called on the gelded son of Stonebridge Regal for the big effort in the home straight he sped clear and had two metres to spare on the line.
He defeated Gifted Courage that trailed the leader thr0pughout with Be Good Franklin almost 16 metres away third.
Jackson has not been in the best of health this past year so in order to give himself something on which to focus he bought two young horses.
Listen to what trainer Tommy Jackson had to say about Finn Mac Kee’s first win at only his second start.
