UNDERRATED three-year-old pacer Flight To Mikinos produced arguably the best performance of his career when he demolished a handy field of C4-5 performers in the Island Block & Paving Pty Ltd Pace over 2200 metres in Launceston tonight (Sunday).
Flight To Mikinos showed blistering early speed from gate five to lead and he was untroubled to score by a massive 12-1/2 metres from Murillo Bromac with Topup hanging on for third 15 metres away and just in advance of The Apprentice.
The Marc Butler-trained gelding has been a model of consistency since arriving from Victoria in June.
This was his fourth win and he also has notched three minor placings from 10 outings in the care of Butler.
Flight To Mikinos (Artesian-Kayla Jo) was handled superbly by talented young reinsman Mark Yole who has driven him in all of his Tasmanian wins.
Butler has placed the horse well with the gelding’s wins and minor placings netting connections over $20,000 in 10 starts over a period of less than three months.
After he scored win at his first start in Tasmania Butler was confident Flight To Mikinos would pay his way and he’s done that and more.
