Ford makes positive start to young drivers series

TASMANIAN reinsman Nathan Ford has made a positive start to the Australasian Young drivers Championship series in New Zealand.

Ford secured a winner and a minor placegetter from the first three heats at Forbury Park to accrue 27 points and secure second place.

New Zealand reinsman Matthew Williamson leads the way with 37 points after clinching two winners and a minor placing from his three drives.

The next round of heats (two) will be held at Addington tonight (AEST) with the final two heats to be run at Ashburton on Monday.

Ford won aboard Kai Bree She in the third heat after placing third aboard outsider Demon Darb in the opening heat.
