We come off a big night of racing last week in Hobart where we witnessed the Marc Butler stables remarkable run continue training a treble despite only having runners in three races. Betterbrown Tiger was first-up for the stable for a handy win after getting the perfect trip into the race. The talented but sometimes wayward Peaceful Thomas did what everyone thought he would if he bought his ‘A’ game when driven a treat by Conor Crook who also brought up his 100th career driving win. He finished off a two-pronged attack in the trot after Armchair Drive trotted to the early lead it was race over with a well-rated drive in front by Rohan Hillier.
The Shallows is a horse going places after resuming with an authoritative win when coming from a long way back on straightening. When trainer-driver Heath Woods asked for the supreme effort he quickly rounded up his rivals running away from them.
Full Speed Ahead was able to ping on top and from there was rated to perfection by driver Mark Yole, when he ran along at a strong tempo to beat Ryley Major who was enormous in defeat coming off the 30m back mark.
The race of the night this week is the 75-79 where The Shallows will be looking to continue on his winning way but he will find this a little stronger with the likes of Lip Reader who has drawn to push forward and Similan Beach should also strip fitter for his first-up effort.
Impulsive George only needs to run up to his latest effort to be one of the better bets of the night.
