Launceston hosts a rare Saturday night meeting on Sky 1 which is great to see so a big pat on the back to the people that have made this happen.
The feature is the Faithful Park Stud Tassie Golden Apple which brings together a very good field. The two class runners Ryley Major and Ignatius come off the back mark which really opens the race up as it’s a tough assignment for the back markers, but they are capable of overcoming it with a bit of luck early. The Shallows was perfectly driven to win his heat and is clearly a major player from the 10m with a safe getaway and a couple at odds that can give a sight are Lip Reader and Taurisi if he steps.
Tarleton Riley looks to have his foot on the till and appears a good gamble in race five as is El Jays Blu in race eight with Ricky Duggan in the gig who has a good record on him.
The Youngbloods Series concluded last week, and it was great to see Sam Clotworthy take out the title. He has worked hard in recent months with his driving which has improved and hopefully this will open up the doors for him to get some outside drives.
