FRANKLYN BLUBOY made a welcome return to the winner’s circle at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart last night (Thursday).

The Margaret Rossendell-trained blue dog produced a personal best time of 26.14 on his way to a comfortable win over reserve runner Got Beer Goggles with Bees Knees two lengths away third and just in advance of Frytson.

It was Franklin Bluboy’s (El Galo-Franklin Delight) first win since early January when successful over Black Cairo in Devonport but it was his first success on the Hobart track since February last year.

While the wins have been well spaced the dog has been consistently accruing prize cheques.

From the 17 starts between wins he notched 11 minor placings so he has continued to pay his way.

This latest win was impressive and there also was a bit to like about the effort of the runner-up.

Got Beer Goggles (Knocka Norris-Regent Ebony) is prepared at Broadmarsh by Keith Nichols and he made a fist of the contest despite being inexperienced in top grade.

Got Beer Goggles has won five of his 25 Tasmanian starts but he looks set to expand that record in the coming weeks.
